Fitness testing is essential to monitor progress. That is why it is important to follow these guidelines for accurate test results:
 
· Complete your test at the same time of day each time as most people perform better either in the morning or evening.
· Make sure eating and drinking have been consistent each time. Going drinking the night before or eating a heavy lunch can all affect your performance.
· Make sure that you take the same amount of rest before each test as training heavily the day before your latest test will not compare favourably to the last test if you rested the day before.
· Monitor the weather conditions. If the weather could have a detrimental effect on your test results, make allowances, or wait until it is clearer.
· Try to use the same course and equipment every time.
