Nutrient Groups
 

This section details the six nutrient groups. The groups need to be balanced, as the body needs them all. It’s never healthy to be deficient in any single group, as good nutrition is about all these nutrients working together.

 
Carbohydrates Aim for 55-60% of total daily intake from this group.
Protein Aim for 10-15% of total daily intake from this group.
Fat Aim for 25-30% of total daily intake from this group.
Vitamins Variety is the key with lots of different coloured vegetables and fruit.
Minerals Variety is the key with lots of different coloured vegetables and fruit.
Water Very important, as 45-73% of your body is made up of water.
